Accident on Highway 99 in Gridley Sends Rider to Hospital

 
GRIDLEY, CA (November 29, 2021) – A man was hurt in a motorcycle accident on Highway 99 in Gridley on Thursday evening.
 
The accident happened around 7:00 p.m. on November 25 just off Perry Avenue near Biggs. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 25-year-old man from Live Oak was riding his motorcycle south on the highway. At the same time, a vehicle was heading west on Perry Avenue.
 
For unknown reasons, both the motorcycle and the vehicle collided into each other. The motorcyclist sustained injuries from the collision and was taken to a hospital by paramedics.
 
After the crash, crews closed the roadways near the crash site for about 30 minutes while they cleared the wreckage.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the accident to determine whether speed, drugs or alcohol were involved.
 
When driving a motorcycle, be aware of what is going on behind you by checking your mirrors. Be careful of cars turning left at intersections. Also, make sure to give the car a friendly wave as you move around them.
