Distracted Driver Causes Chain-Reaction Accident on C Street near National City Boulevard

 
CHULA VISTA, CA (December 20, 2021) – A man sustained injuries in a chain-reaction accident on C Street, Wednesday morning.
 
According to the National City Police Department, the incident happened on December 15, at about 7:35 a.m. A work truck reportedly hit the rear of a work van on C Street.
 
The impact of the collision caused a chain-reaction crash that involved a total of 5 vehicles near National City Boulevard and Broadway.
 
Emergency crews transported a man to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Other people involved had complaints of pain but did not need hospitalization.
 
A witness claimed that the driver of the work truck was on his phone while traveling at a high rate of speed.
 
National City police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
