Man Dies after Struck by At Least Two Vehicles on 101 Freeway near Echo Park

 
ECHO PARK, CA (February 12, 2024) – A man was hit and killed by at least two vehicles on 101 Freeway near Echo Park late Saturday evening on February 10.
 
The fatal crash happened around 11:05 p.m. at North Vermont Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking in the area when at least two vehicles struck him in the southbound freeway lanes.
 
The impact caused the man fatal injuries and he died at the scene. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
 
Officers said the fatality may have also triggered a separate two-vehicle crash, but it was unknown whether there were any injuries from that crash.
 
No other information available. An investigation is ongoing.
