Man Dies after Car Jack Slips while Changing Tire on Harrison Gulch Road near Platina

 
PLATINA, CA (February 5, 2023) – A man was fatally struck by a vehicle that fell from a car-jack on Harrison Gulch Road in Platina area on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on January 31, at Wildwood Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle that potentially fell from a car-jack crushed the man who was attempting to change his tire.
 
Responding emergency crews found the young adult man dead at the scene. The victim was not yet identified.
 
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation. The CHP urged anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact them at 530-225-0500.
