3 Hurt in Fatal Multi-Vehicle Accident on Katella Avenue near Los Alamitos Boulevard

 
LOS ALAMITOS, CA (March 4, 2022) – A man and a yellow Labrador Retriever were killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Katella Avenue, Thursday evening.
 
According to the Los Alamitos Police Department, the incident happened on March 3 at about 6:15 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, at least eight vehicles collided near the intersection of Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard.
 
Emergency crews pronounced a man and a dog dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the name of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, responders freed two trapped victims in the wreckage. Then, paramedics transported them to trauma centers for treatment of unspecified injuries.
 
As per reports, one other victim also suffered injuries but declined hospitalization.
 
Los Alamitos police continue to investigate the fatal crash. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
