Pedestrian Hit, Killed by Car on Highway 198 in Kings County

 
KINGS COUNTY, CA (September 16, 2024) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 198 near 14th Avenue on Tuesday.
 
The California Highway Patrol responded to reports around 8:15 p.m. of a pedestrian accident near the Kings County Town of Armona. Upon responding, crews learned that a 55-year-old woman in an eastbound Kia struck a male pedestrian who crossed directly into her path.
 
Subsequently, paramedics responded and transported the seriously injured man to Adventist Medical Center Hanford, where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not identified him at this time.
 
After the crash, CHP officers interviewed the driver and ruled out impairment as a possible explanation for the incident. However, if anyone has additional insight, call the CHP.
