SANTA MARIA, CA (March 18, 2024) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Broadway near Alvin Avenue.
 
According to Santa Maria Police officers, the pedestrian accident happened around 9:25 p.m. Friday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck a male pedestrian in the 800 block of North Broadway. Subsequently, Santa Maria Police and emergency personnel arrived at the scene, locating the individual with major injuries. Due to his condition, paramedics took him to Dignity Health Marian Regional Medical Center, but he passed away moments later.
 
Following the incident, officers closed Broadway between Alvin Avenue and McElhaney Avenue to identify the leading cause. However, if anyone can help investigators, please call Santa Maria Police.
