Motorcyclist Killed in 10 Freeway Crash with Car in Fontana

FONTANA, CA (January 5, 2024) — A man died in a motorcycle accident on the 10 Freeway near Cherry Avenue on New Year’s Eve.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly motorcycle crash happened around 8:24 p.m. For possible speed-related reasons, a 32-year-old Bloomington man lost control of his eastbound 2005 Kawasaki Ninja. Subsequently, his vehicle crashed into the rear of a 2010 Nissan Maxima, driven by a 33-year-old Las Vegas resident. Upon impact, the motorcycle rider was ejected from his bike and landed in the No. 1 and 2 lanes where a vehicle ran over him. From there, another car struck his Kawasaki bike.

Moments later, paramedics responded and took the seriously injured rider to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Fontana where he passed away. The Nissan Maxima driver was also taken there for treatment of minor injuries.

At the time of the report, traffic investigators did not suspect impairment to have played a role in the motorcycle accident. However, if anyone has more information, please call the California Highway Patrol’s Rancho Cucamonga Area office at (909) 980-3449.

Our heartfelt sympathies are with the family and friends of the victim.
