Man Killed in Head-On Crash on Highway 156

 
SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA (December 22, 2021) — A man died in a head-on accident on Highway 156 near San Felipe Road on Friday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal two-car crash happened around 7:00 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 26-year-old in a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado drove from the westbound lane over the double yellow lines.
 
Subsequently, the Chevrolet collided with an eastbound 2016 Nissan Frontier traveling about 55 miles per hour.
 
As a result of the accident, the 26-year-old suffered abrasions to his forearms and left knee and the 53-year-old driver of the Nissan suffered fatal wounds. The fatal victim’s name has not been released.
 
At this time, alcohol and drugs did not factor into the accident. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm the cause of this fatal accident.
