RIVERSIDE, CA (March 9, 2022) — A man died in a 3-car accident on Jurupa Avenue at Van Buren Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon.
 
According to the Riverside Police Department, the fatal multi-car crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 36-year-old Banning man crashed his westbound Dodge Durango into two vehicles after entering the intersection. Per reports, the Dodge struck a southbound Honda first before hitting a southbound Scion.
 
Shortly after, emergency personnel responded to the scene and brought the Honda driver, a 28-year-old man, to Riverside Community Hospital. However, despite having received life-saving efforts, he died shortly after.
 
As for the Dodge and Scion drivers, both suffered minor injuries and did not require hospital care.
 
At this time, investigators have not confirmed whether the Dodge ran a red light or other probable causes. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm the details.
