Roberto Ordaz-Moralez Injured in Fatal Semi-Truck Accident on Highway 49 near Alta Sierra Drive

 
NEVADA COUNTY, CA (March 9, 2022)Roberto Ordaz-Moralez suffered minor injuries in a fatal semi-truck accident on Highway 49 near Alta Sierra Drive on Tuesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle collision happened around 6:25 a.m. A driver in a Toyota Tacoma saw a deer on the road. In an attempt to avoid it, the 48-year-old woman swerved but struck the deer anyway. Subsequently, her vehicle entered the opposing lane, crashing into a semi-truck hauling 60,000 pounds of medical supplies.
 
Due to the impact, the woman operating the Toyota was ejected and died shortly after.
 
Meanwhile, Ordaz-Moralez, operating the semi-truck, suffered minor injuries but cooperated with police following the crash.
 
Shortly after, investigators, fire paramedics and other crews responded to the scene to tend to the hundred gallons of diesel fuel that spilled into a nearby ditch.
 
At this time, the fatal victim’s identity and other details of this crash require additional investigation. However, anyone with information on this accident should call the CHP.
