Man Killed, Woman Injured in Two-Car Accident on Front Street and Magnolia Street

 
COTTONWOOD, CA (April 29, 2022) — A man died and a woman was injured in a two-car crash on Front Street on Thursday, April 28.
 
According to the Burbank Police Department, the crash happened about 12:30 p.m. on Front Street and Magnolia Street, near the Golden State (5) Freeway. A white SUV and a blue sedan were involved in the collision.
 
Responding officers discovered a man with significant injuries in the driver’s seat of the blue sedan. They extracted him and rendered aid, however, he died at the scene. There were no other occupants in his vehicle.
 
Officials withheld the man’s identity pending notification of his loved ones.
 
Medics brought the woman driving the SUV to a hospital with serious injuries. There are also no other occupants in the SUV.
 
According to bystanders near the scene, they saw the blue sedan speeding before the collision.
 
BPD determined through an initial investigation that unsafe speed likely contributed to the collision. They have not yet reported whether drugs or alcohol was also a factor in the incident.
