One Sustained Leg Injuries after Head-On Accident on 5 Freeway near Kenwood Avenue

 
SAN BERNARDINO, CA (April 29, 2022) — One person was hurt following a head-on crash on 15 Freeway near Kenwood Avenue on Thursday, April 28.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, a black Honda CRV and a silver Honda Accord were part of the crash.
 
The CHP traffic log said at about 8:54 a.m., the CRV traveled southbound going the wrong way on 15 Freeway. Then it crashed in the path of the sliver moving in the northbound No. 2 lane. The collision sent the CRV upside down in the traffic lanes.
 
According to CHP, the male driver of the CRV ran from the crash site down the embankment across the southbound side. Minutes later, CHP found the driver that fled the area.
 
Medics brought one person with leg injuries to a hospital by ambulance.
 
The identity of the male driver who ran from the scene is not immediately available.
 
Officials have not yet determined why the male driver of the black Honda CRV drove southbound in the northbound lanes.
 
California Highway Patrol Inland Office handles the ongoing investigation.
