2 Dead in DUI Collision on 205 Freeway in Tracy

 
TRACY, CA (December 4, 2023) — A man died in a DUI multi-car accident on the 205 Freeway near El Rancho Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly multi-vehicle collision happened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday. For unknown reasons, a sedan became disabled on the road. Subsequently, a man and a woman in another car pulled over to assist the driver. However, the disabled vehicle began to move, reversing into the No. 3 lane, where a Freightliner struck it.
 
Due to the impact, the sedan crashed into the right shoulder and struck the 32-year-old Stockton man and 32-year-old Tracy woman who tried to assist the driver earlier. Due to his injuries, the man passed away. The woman, however, suffered major injuries.
 
Following an investigation, officers arrested the sedan driver on suspicion of DUI.
