Man Killed after Pedestrian Crash on Highway 180 and James Road

 
KERMAN, CA (March 21, 2022) — A man died after a pedestrian accident on Highway 180 in Kerman on Saturday, March 12.
 
According to California Highway Patrol officials, the incident happened just after 10:30 p.m. on Highway 180 and James Road.
 
Investigators said a sedan moved westbound on Highway 180, just east of James Avenue. Then a man walking on the north shoulder walked into the path of the vehicle. Officers said the driver was unable to prevent hitting the man due to how quickly he entered the roadway.
 
Officials said the pedestrian, identified only as a male in his 40s, died at the scene.
 
The driver was not hurt. Officers do not believe he was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
