Carjacking Suspect Causes Police Pursuit Accident on 40th Street West near Avenue J

 
LANCASTER, CA (December 1, 2023) – A man was arrested following a police pursuit accident on 40th Street West, Wednesday morning.
 
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the incident happened on November 29, at about 6:30 a.m. Officers responded to a report about a stolen white Ford work truck in the 8500 block of Foothill Boulevard.
 
A pursuit shortly began and the driver led officers through the Angeles National Forest and into Antelope Valley. As per reports, the suspect drove into oncoming traffic and through construction zones. At least two other vehicles were hit by the fleeing driver.
 
At about 8:46 a.m., the suspect jumped out of the truck in the area of 40th Street West and Avenue J. He fled on foot into a residential neighborhood in Lancaster. A short time later, authorities arrested the driver without incident.
 
He will be facing a wide range of charges including grand theft auto.
