Fairfield Man Killed in DUI Accident on Sonoma Boulevard in Vallejo
VALLEJO, CA (December 20, 2022) – A Fairfield man was killed in a DUI accident on Sonoma Boulevard, Sunday evening.
According to the Vallejo Police Department, the incident happened on December 18, at about 8:00 p.m. A 2013 BMW SUV reportedly struck the rear of a disabled 1965 Chevrolet sedan in the 4200 block of Sonoma Boulevard.
The driver of the Chevrolet was outside the vehicle when the accident happened.
Then, the BMW also hit a stopped 1999 Honda. As per reports, the occupants of the Honda were helping the victims inside the Chevrolet.
Emergency crews later pronounced the Chevrolet driver, identified as a 44-year-old Fairfield man, dead at the scene.
Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
Two other people sustained injuries in the collision.
Officers arrested the 30-year-old BMW driver on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter. The Vallejo man was booked into Solano County Jail.
