Merced DUI Crash on G Street Sends 2 People to Hospital, Lori Gallo Arrested
MERCED, CA (January 25, 2022) – Police arrested Lori Gallo after a DUI crash on G Street in Merced Thursday evening last week.
The crash happened around 7:06 p.m. on January 20, near Cardella Road. According to the Merced Police Department, the 47-year-old suspect was driving her 2022 Maserati south on G Street at more than 125 mph. While approaching Cardella Road, Gallo attempted to pass a Lexus going south on G Street, but her vehicle sideswiped the Lexus.
Gallo’s Maserati then hit a Honda stopped at the intersection. The impact caused the Maserati and Lexus to go into a ditch several hundred feet away.
A fourth car struck a tire and wheel that were torn off the Maserati and left in the roadway.
Responding paramedics took both the drivers of the Lexus and Honda to area hospitals for treatment of unspecified injuries.
All four involved vehicles were damaged from the crash.
Police determined that Gallo was driving under the influence, with a blood alcohol content over twice the legal limit. They arrested her on suspicion of felony DUI collision causing injury and booked her into Merced County Jail.
Merced police are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact Officer Calcagno at 209-388-7718 or [email protected].
