Police Arrest 43-Year-Old Woman after Intentionally Striking Arroyo Grande Police Officer During Domestic Disturbance Call

 
ARROYO GRANDE, CA (March 1, 2023) – Laura Lee Millar was arrested after she intentionally struck an Arroyo Grande police officer Thursday night on February 23.
 
Around 5:46 p.m., officers were called to a domestic disturbance at the 1400 block of East Grand Avenue. When they arrived, they found a man and a woman and attempted to detain them to investigate the incident.
 
Millar, a 43-year-old Santa Maria resident, attempted to flee and got in her vehicle. She then intentionally struck the officer with her vehicle and drove away.
 
Paramedics took the officer to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
 
The man involved was detained and later released.
 
CHP officers found Millar a short time later in Buellton and arrested her. They booked her into San Luis Obispo County Jail on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.
 
Further investigation is underway.
