Lance Lott Killed in 5 Freeway Pedestrian Crash near Highway 126

 
CASTAIC, CA (March 21, 2023) — Lance Lott died in a pedestrian accident on the 5 Freeway near Highway 126.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 2:50 a.m. Saturday. Upon receiving reports of a traffic collision on the northbound freeway, officers responded near the truck scales.
 
They found a Castaic man with fatal injuries. Authorities learned that 21-year-old Lott was hit by a 2019 Ford Transit 250 van while walking in the northbound lanes. A 57-year-old Stevenson Ranch man called 911 after the crash.
 
Authorities do not know if impairment played a factor in the accident, which resulted in a SigAlert for nearly five hours. If anyone has more information on this fatal pedestrian accident, please call the Newhall Area Office.
