Kyu Chen Killed in DUI Accident on Sand Canyon Avenue [Irvine, CA]

69-Year-Old Woman Dies after Colliding with DUI Driver in Irvine, Luis Diaz Arrested

 
IRVINE, CA (September 28, 2021) – Kyu Chen was killed in a DUI crash in Irvine early Monday morning.
 
The crash happened around 4:10 a.m. on September 27 at the intersection of Sand Canyon Avenue and Irvine Center Drive. According to the Irvine Police Department, the 61-year-old victim from Irvine was driving a Toyota Prius when she collided with a Mercedes-Benz C300, driven by 21-year-old Luis Marcial Diaz, also an Irvine resident.
 
The impact caused severe injuries on Chen. Paramedics rushed her to a hospital, where she later died.
 
Meanwhile, police arrested Diaz on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
