Fatal Accident on Fairview Road near Fairview Court Involves Semi Truck and Car
HOLLISTER, CA (September 28, 2021) – A man was killed in a semi truck accident on Fairview Road in Hollister Sunday night.
The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on September 26 just north of Fairview Court. According to the California Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2017 Buick southbound on the roadway when he struck a 2021 Peterbilt semi trailer that was turning left from private property onto northbound Fairview Road.
As a result, the man driving the Buick suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 77-year-old Newark resident.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Peterbilt did not sustain injuries.
CHP officials said alcohol did not play a role in the crash, which is under investigation.
