Fatal DUI Crash on 15 Freeway in Temecula, Kevin May Arrested

 
TEMECULA, CA (April 26, 2021) – Kevin May was arrested for DUI after a fatal accident on 15 Freeway in Temecula Thursday afternoon, April 22.
 
The accident happened around 12:30 p.m. just south of Overland Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2016 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by a 47-year-old Bloomington resident was stopped within the fourth lane of Overland Drive because of stopped traffic ahead. A 2015 Toyota Prius was traveling directly behind the Kenworth and came to a stop.
 
But a 2016 HINO bob tail/box truck, which was directly behind the Prius, failed to stop in time and crashed into the Prius, which became wedged between the two trucks. The box truck and the Prius became engulfed in flames.
 
As a result, the driver of the Prius died at the scene. He was not yet identified.
 
The driver of the Kenworth did not sustain any injuries.
 
Meanwhile, the 47-year-old Fontana man driving the box truck suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police later arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of a drug and may face further criminal charges.
 
Further investigation is underway.
