Motorcyclist Hits, Kills Pedestrian Kent Carlsen in Long Beach

 
LONG BEACH, CA (February 25, 2021) – An elderly man died in a pedestrian accident on McNab Avenue on February 16.
 
The pedestrian was identified as 76-year-old Kent Carlsen of Long Beach, according to the Long Beach Police Department reported.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at the intersection of Stearns Street at approximately 6:20 PM.
 
Based on a report, a 23-year-old male resident of Long Beach was driving a motorcycle at a high rate of speed prior to the crash. At the same time, Carlsen crossed the road in an unmarked crosswalk. Soon after, the motorcycle struck the victim.
 
As a result, Carlsen died at a hospital.
 
The motorcyclist sustained minor injuries. However, crews transported him to a local hospital for treatment. His name was not released.
 
No other details are available. However, officers do not suspect alcohol, drugs, and distracted driving to be factors in the crash.
