Minor on Bicycle Suffers Injuries after Struck by Vehicle on Lincoln Street in Mecca

 
MECCA, CA (May 6, 2023) – A juvenile was injured in a bicycle accident at Lincoln Street and Avenue 68 in Mecca on Tuesday night.
 
The accident happened around 6:11 p.m. on May 2. According to the CHP, the minor was riding their bicycle when a vehicle struck them.
 
An air ambulance took the victim to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
 
It is unclear if the involved driver stayed after the crash. It is also unknown if drugs or alcohol was a factor.
 
The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
