Juan Flores-Vasquez Arrested after Car Crashes into Two Trees in Petaluma

 
PETALUMA, CA (January 28, 2022) – A driver and his passenger needed hospitalization following a DUI accident on Lakeville Highway, Wednesday evening.
 
According to the Petaluma Police Department, the incident happened on January 26, at about 9:40 p.m. A Volkswagen sedan reportedly slammed into two trees near the northbound onramp to Highway 101.
 
The impact of the collision ejected the entire engine block. As per reports, the engine block landed in the number 1 eastbound lane and then caught fire.
 
Authorities later identified the driver as 21-year-old Juan Flores-Vasquez, a Petaluma resident. Both Flores-Vasquez and his passenger were transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital as a precaution.
 
Officers later arrested Flores-Vasquez on suspicion of DUI. Investigators also added that he was driving at a high speed and unlicensed.
 
Petaluma police continue to investigate the accident.
