Joseph Curran Dies after Car Crashes into Bus Stop in Elysian Park

 
ELYSIAN PARK, CA (July 20, 2022) – One pedestrian died and two others suffered injuries after a car crashed into a bus stop on North Broadway in Elysian Park on July 12.
 
74-year-old Joseph Curran died from multiple blunt force injuries, according to the coroner’s office. His city of residence was not available.
 
The accident happened just after 4:20 p.m. in the area of 1001 North Broadway, fewer than two miles from Dodger Stadium. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a green Mercedes-Benz SUV crashed on a sidewalk and into a bus stop.
 
Officers arrived and confirmed that Curran was killed in the accident.
 
Two other people were injured, with one of them taken to a hospital in critical condition. It was not known if the patients were pedestrians or occupants of vehicles.
 
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
