Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Laurel Drive in Salinas

 
SALINAS, CA (July 21, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Laurel Drive at Natividad Road on Tuesday.
 
According to the Salinas Police Department, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 10:10 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a minivan struck the 27-year-old victim while he was walking northbound across East Laurel Drive.
 
Subsequently, a dark-colored sedan also struck the victim but drove off.
 
Shortly after, emergency personnel responded to the scene, but the pedestrian died later in the crash.
 
Officers then investigated the 60-year-old minivan driver who did not exhibit signs of intoxication.
 
At this time, the Salinas police have not confirmed the exact circumstances of the crash or the identity of the second driver. However, if anyone has more information, please call the police.
