Jose Niebla Killed in Pedestrian Accident on East Rosecrans Avenue [Compton, CA]

70-Year-Old Jose Niebla Dies after Struck by Car on East Rosecrans Avenue in Compton

 
COMPTON, CA (May 17, 2021) – Jose Jesus Alvarez Niebla was killed in a pedestrian accident early Saturday morning in Compton.
 
The accident happened just after 3:00 a.m. on May 15 at 4328 East Rosecrans Avenue. A 60-year-old Compton woman was driving a 2008 Nissan Altima eastbound on Rosecrans Avenue at 35 mph east of South Castlegate Avenue.
 
The 70-year-old Compton resident walked directly into the path of the Altima and the driver was unable to stop in time and struck him. The impact pushed Niebla into the rear of a parked 2007 Toyota Camry.
 
As a result, Niebla suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
No arrests were made at this time. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
