Fatal Pedestrian Accident at Fir Avenue and Perris Boulevard

 
MORENO VALLEY, CA (February 23, 2021) – The Riverside County coroner’s office Sunday identified a pedestrian who was fatally struck by a motorist in Moreno Valley.
 
The fatal incident happened a little before midnight Saturday, February 13 in the area of Fir Avenue and Perris Boulevard.
 
According to the coroner’s office, 37-year-old Jose Manuel Garcia of Moreno Valley was crossing Perris Boulevard when a speeding white two-door Pontiac Grand Am struck him.
 
After the crash, the Pontiac slowed down and pulled to the side of the road momentarily, along with a purple Scion XB. Then both vehicles drove off eastbound on Fir Avenue, according to authorities.
 
Garcia suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
The culprit remain at large Sunday. Further investigation is underway.
