DUI Driver Causes Crash on Forrest Avenue in Victorville

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (August 12, 2024) – John Henry Lee Williams was arrested in a DUI hit-and-run crash in Victorville Saturday evening on August 10.
 
The crash happened 10:10 p.m. at Forrest Avenue and Seventh Streeton. According to the Victorville Police Department, a woman was driving a silver Honda Accord northbound when a black 2008 Chrysler 300, driven by the suspect, made a left turn in front of her.
 
The Honda came to a stop at the Veterans Memorial. The female driver was not injured and the statue was not damaged.
 
Williams, a 61-year-old Adelanto resident, attempted to drive away from the scene after the crash. However, responding unmarked patrol unit quickly stopped him.
 
Williams was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center. He faces charges incluing DUI, hit-and-run causing property damage and driving wthout a License.

According to public arrest records, Williams was Cite Released and is no longer in custody.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
