Jocelyn Campos Killed in DUI Crash on South Main Street [Santa Ana, CA]

Passenger Dies after Pickup Truck Crashes into Pole in Santa Ana, Driver Arrested for DUI

 
SANTA ANA, CA (April 22, 2024)– Jocelyn Janet Campos was killed in a DUI crash in Santa Ana early Sunday morning on April 21.
 
The fatal crash happened around 2:00 a.m. in the area of 800 South Main Street. According to the Santa Ana Police Department, the pickup truck was traveling southbound on Main Street when it lost control. It then struck a palm tree and came to a stop against a pole.
 
Campos, one of the two passengers in the truck, died at hospital. She was a 27-year-old Paramount resident, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck and another male passenger suffered unspecified injuries. Both were expected to survive.
 
Traffic detectives determined the driver, who had prior DUI arrests, was under the influence of alcohol and possibly drugs.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing death and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence.
