UPDATE: Joaquin Ripley Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident on 34th Street and Spring Street [Paso Robles, CA]

17-Year-Old Joaquin Ripley Dead in Paso Robles Car Accident

 
PASO ROBLES, CA (January 19, 2022) – A teenager was killed in a multi-vehicle accident in Paso Robles on Thursday, January 13.
 
A GoFundMe fundraiser identifies the victim as 17-year-old Joaquin Ripley who was a few weeks away from his 18th birthday and recently had a baby girl. Paso Robles police have not confirmed his identity.
 
According to the Paso Robles Police Department, the incident happened at about 5:15 p.m. at 34th Street and Spring Street. Ripley was driving northbound on Spring Street at a high-rate of speed. Soon after, the car hit two other vehicles as they turned onto Spring from 34th Street.
 
A video shows one vehicle turning left onto the northbound side of Spring Street. In addition, it showed another turning left onto the southbound side when a black car races into the frame and collides with both.
 
Bystanders attempted to save his life by pulling him from the car and performing CPR. However, emergency responders pronounced Ripley dead at the scene.
 
The other people involved in the collision did not sustain injuries.
 
Paso Robles police will release additional information once it becomes available.
