Jeremiah Gibson Dies After Leaving Traffic Stop and Hitting Tree near Whitendale Avenue and Chinowth Street

 
VISALIA, CA (November 30, 2023) — Jeremiah Gibson died after fleeing a traffic stop and crashing into a tree near Whitendale Avenue and Chinowth Street.
 
According to the Visalia Police Department, the fatal accident happened just after 11:00 p.m. Sunday. For an unknown reason, 39-year-old Gibson fled from patrol officers during a traffic stop. Subsequently, he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree.
 
As a result of the impact, Gibson was pinned inside his vehicle. After freeing him, firefighter-paramedics brought him to a hospital where he passed away.
 
According to an investigation, police pulled the 39-year-old over for a red light traffic violation and possible DUI.
