Jeanne Raines Hurt in Deadly Car Crash on Highway 49 near Old Highway 49

 
DRYTOWN, CA (November 22, 2021) — Jeanne Raines suffered injuries in a fatal car accident on Highway 49 near Old Highway 49, early Wednesday.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened at approximately 5:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, a man driving a Honda Insight allowed his southbound vehicle to drift to the west edge of the road. Subsequently, the man steered his vehicle to the left and crossed the double yellow line, into the path of a northbound Toyota Corolla.
 
Behind the wheel of the Toyota was 28-year-old Raines, who took evasive action, applying her breaks. However, she became unable to avoid the crash and the front-end of her car struck the right-rear of the Honda Insight.
 
As a result of the impact, the man in the Honda ejected out of the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. Meanwhile, Raines, of Pine Grove, suffered minor injuries.
