63-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Electric Bike in Sausalito

 
SAUSALITO, CA (September 22, 2022) – 63-year-old Sausalito resident James Charles Gordon was hit and killed by an electric bicycle on a bayside path in Sausalito on August 31.
 
The fatal crash happened around 8:40 p.m. on the Mill Valley-Sausalito Pathway near Gate 6 Road. According to the Marin County Sheriff’s Office, Gordon was walking on the path when he was struck by an e-bike traveling under power.
 
Gordon fell, hit his head and lost consciousness. Despite first aid at the scene and days of treatment at a hospital, he never regained consciousness and died on September 6.
 
It is unclear if the cyclist stayed after the crash. An investigation is underway.
