Driver Strikes Man Lying on Mattress on Park Boulevard in Hillcrest, Dragging Victim Almost 30 Feet

 
HILLCREST, CA (July 19, 2023) – A homeless man was severely injured after being hit by a car on Park Boulevard in the Hillcrest neighborhood Sunday morning on July 16.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash happened around 11:38 a.m. in the west alley of 3800 Park Boulevard. A 48-year-old male driver turned into the alley off University Avenue and struck the victim, who was lying on a mattress.
 
The victim, a 65-year-old man, was dragged by the vehicle nearly 30 feet.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital with second- and third-degree burns and a fractured femur.
