Hit-and-Run Driver Kills Unhoused Man at 8th and Alvarado Streets in Downtown LA
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, CA (March 24, 2024) – A homeless man was killed in hit-and-run crash at 8th Street and Alvarado Street in downtown Los Angeles early Saturday morning.
The fatal crash happened around 12:54 a.m. on March 23. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the man was walking in a marked crosswalk when a vehicle heading westbound on 8th Street struck him.
After the crash, the driver of the vehicle continued without stopping.
The man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was 35 years old and was unhoused, police said.
