Holly Newman Crashes Motorcycle into Vehicle on Court Street in Redding
REDDING, CA (February 3, 2021) – Police identified Holly Newman as the victim who suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident on Court Street on the evening of January 25.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Tehama Street.
Based on a report, Newman was driving a 2007 Suzuki GSX motorcycle northbound on Court Street at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, 72-year-old Faith Blatchford turned her 2013 Honda CRV onto Tehama in front of Newman. Newman crashed into the passenger’s side of Blatchford’s SUV.
Rescuers said Newman was wearing a helmet but it fell off during the crash. As a result, she suffered injuries to her left arm, left leg, and head. Crews transported her to Mercy Medical Center. Officials identified Holly Newman as a 40-year-old Redding resident.
At this point, officers don’t think alcohol or drugs are a factor in the accident. However, the Redding Police Department is still investigating the case.
