Heather Hernandez Arrested, CHP Officer Injured in DUI Accident on Adams Street and Indiana Avenue

 
RIVERSIDE, CA (May 11, 2022) — Officials arrested 26-year-old Heather Fernandez Hernandez after a DUI crash on Monday, May 9.
 
According to the Riverside Police Department said, just before 5 a.m., a CHP officer was sitting at a red light at Adams Street and Indiana Avenue. Then he saw a vehicle approaching in his rear-view mirror. The officer maneuvered to his left shortly before the car hit the right rear of his motorcycle.
 
The officer sustained unspecified moderate injuries. He had been released from a hospital by late morning.
 
Hernandez, who drove the involved vehicle, fled the scene. However, officers stopped her vehicle on Lincoln Avenue near Monroe Street.
 
They arrested her on suspicion of hit and run causing injury and driving under the influence causing injury.
 
Officials held her in lieu of $50,000 bail at Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside according to jail records.
