Giovani Gomez Fatally Struck in Ceres Pedestrian Accident on Service Road near Esmar Road

 
CERES, CA (November 1, 2022) — A 22-year-old man identified as Giovani Gomez of Ceres died in a pedestrian accident on Friday, October 28.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, at around 7:00 p.m. Gomez was in the roadway when a westbound pickup hit him on Service Road near Esmar Road.
 
The driver remained at the scene and called the authorities. He did not sustain any injuries.
 
Paramedics arrived at the area and rushed Gomez to Doctors Medical Center, where he died. The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office released his identity the following week.
 
The CHP previously reported that Gomez was from Oakland. However, an official from the coroner’s office reported that was his previous residence and Gomez most recently lived in Ceres.
