Gilberto Llamas-Gutierrez Dies in Head-On Collision on Highway 132 near Twin Rivers

 
MODESTO, CA (April 20, 2023) — Gilberto Llamas-Gutierrez died in a head-on accident on Highway 132 near Twin Rivers.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the deadly two-vehicle crash took place around 2:40 a.m. on April 13. For an unknown reason, 28-year-old Gilberto Llamas-Gutierrez veered from the westbound to the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer rig.
 
The San Jose man died at the scene. A 32-year-old man from Lodi who was operating the big rig suffered minor injuries. In addition, a 33-year-old woman in the tractor-trailer reported minor wounds but a 3-year-old boy who was seat belted in the sleeper berth was not harmed.
 
Traffic investigators do not have information on what led to the accident. It appears four days earlier two people died in a separate head-on crash on the same highway. Authorities reported that two passengers in a Kia that crashed into Mercedes-Benz passed away while the Mercedes-Benz and Kia drivers suffered major injuries. Alcohol played a role in that crash.
 
Authorities encourage drivers to drive safely and not include alcohol or drugs in the equation.
