Gerard Duncan Killed in Bicycle Accident near Navajo Road [Apple Valley, CA]

Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Pickup Truck in Apple Valley

 
APPLE VALLEY, CA (January 3, 2024) – Gerard Duncan was killed in a bicycle accident in Apple Valley late Tuesday afternoon on December 19.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:48 p.m. near Navajo Road and Ottawa Road. According to the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Department, a white 2016 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling southbound on Navajo Road approaching Ottawa Road.
 
At the same time, Duncan was wearing dark clothing and riding his bicycle west across Navajo Road. For unknown reasons, the Chevrolet struck him near the intersection.
 
As a result, Duncan suffered major injuries and died at the scene. He was a 66-year-old Apple Valley resident.
 
The driver of the Chevrolet, 31-year-old Apple Valley man, was unharmed. He remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
At this time, an investigation is underway.
