Fiery Crash on 710 Freeway in Long Beach Leaves 5 People Dead

 
LONG BEACH, CA (June 27, 2023) – George Dobbs and Ariahh Slemaker were among five people who died in a fiery crash in Long Beach early Monday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 4:12 a.m. on northbound 710 Freeway at the 91 Freeway interchange. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black Hyundai Sonata carrying six people was speeding when it slammed into the barriers and burst into flames.
 
Some of the people inside the car were ejected during the crash. Five of the six occupants died at the scene.
 
By Monday afternoon, authorities identified Dobbs and Slemaker as two of the fatal victims. Both were 15 years old from Long Beach.
 
A male occupant who survived was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries.
 
The cause and other factors of the crash remain under investigation.
