Fredrick Witherspoon Involved in Fatal Accident on Pozo Road in Santa Margarita

 
SANTA MARGARITA, CA (March 10, 2021) – Officers identified Fredrick Witherspoon as the victim who died in a motorcycle crash on Pozo Road on March 7.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just east of River Road around 2:50 PM.
 
Based on a report, Witherspoon was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound Pozo Road at the time of the crash. In addition, the motorcycle was travelling at a high rate of speed. As it entered a right curve, Witherspoon failed to properly negotiate and drove onto the south shoulder.
 
Subsequently, the motorcycle collided with a t-post and barbed wire fence. Lastly, it collided with a dirt pasture, sliding in a westerly direction for approximately 75 feet before coming to rest.
 
As a result, Witherspoon died in the incident. Officials identified him as a 38-year-old Fredrick Paso Robles resident.
 
Officials have not ruled out alcohol and/or drugs as a contributing factor to this collision.
