Two Pickup Trucks Collide on Highway 49 in Tuolumne County Injuring 4 People

 
TUOLUMNE COUNTY, CA (May 23, 2023) – Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 49 in Tuolumne County Friday night on May 19.
 
The accident happened just before 6:00 p.m. near Tuttletown School Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, two pickup trucks collided head-on in the area in unclear circumstances.
 
When officers arrived, they found a total of four patients, one of them suffered major injuries. Two others had moderate injuries and one with minor injuries.
 
The seriously injured patient was airlifted to a hospital in an unknown condition.
 
CHP officials are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
