26-Year-Old Man Killed in Head-On Accident on Dogwood Road near Ralph Road

 
IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA (November 23, 2022) – A 26-year-old man died and two people were injured in a head-on accident on Dogwood Road, Sunday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on November 20, at about 2:30 p.m. For reasons still under investigation, a southbound 2006 Kia Forte traveled into the northbound lane.
 
Then, the Kia collided head-on with a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado near Ralph Road. The impact of the collision caused the Kia to hit a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the Kia driver dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the 2000 Chevrolet driver, identified as 57-year-old Fernando Buenrostro of Brawley, sustained minor injuries but did not need hospitalization. His passenger, 56-year-old Gilbert Amecuza, did not sustain injuries.
 
The 2001 Chevrolet driver, identified as 54-year-old Araceli Osuna, was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
CHP continues to investigate the cause of the accident.
