Bakersfield Woman Dies in Traffic Accident on Union Avenue Involving 10 Vehicles

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 1, 2021)Fedricia Harrison died in a multi-vehicle accident on November 16 in Bakersfield.
 
The fatal accident happened around 5:48 p.m. in the 2100 block of Union Avenue. According to the Bakersfield Police Department, vehicles were slowing or stopped at a red light when a northbound Chevrolet Silverado failed to slow for traffic and struck another car. The impact caused a chain-reaction involving a total of ten vehicles.
 
Harrison, a 40-year-old Bakersfield resident, sustained critical injuries. Paramedics rushed her to Kern Medical, where she died on November 19th.
 
The driver of the Silverado, 19-year-old Jose Catarino-Reyes of Madera, fled the scene before authorities arrived. Police later arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and driving without a driver’s license.
 
Police also arrested 25-year-old Antonio Catarino-Reyes of Madera on suspicion of assisting in the driver’s escape from the scene of the crash. They booked him into the Kern County Jail.
 
At this time, an investigation is ongoing.
