Wrong-Way Driver Causes Head-On Crash at Bay Bridge Roll Plaza Injuring CHP Officer

 
OAKLAND, CA (December 1, 2021) – A wrong-way driver was arrested in a head-on accident at the Bay Bridge toll plaza in Oakland on Sunday afternoon.
 
According to the CHP, the driver of a flat-bed truck was heading the wrong way through the toll plaza Sunday afternoon. The truck sped through toll booths and crashed head-on into a patrol car. It also hit two other cars before finally coming to a stop.
 
Authorities later arrested the tow truck driver on several felony charges.
 
Meanwhile, one CHP officer was injured from the crash.
 
At this time, the California Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
