Police Pursuit Turns Fatal in Fontana Accident at 210 Freeway
FONTANA, CA (February 8, 2021) — A fatal police pursuit accident at the 210 Freeway and Beech Avenue exit unfolded Wednesday, January 21.
According to police, the high-speed chase started at 12:05 p.m. After spotting a suspect related to a criminal case, police officers pursued the driver, immediately resulting in a chase.
The suspect led officers on a pursuit through Fontana, Rialto and Rancho Cucamonga. From there, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Airship took over as they trailed closely behind the suspect’s car.
However, around 12:15 p.m., the pursuit came to a halt. According to officers, the suspect did not stop at the intersection and collided with another vehicle.
As a result of the crash, a passenger in the second car died at the scene; however, authorities have not released the victim’s name.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the suspect and the driver of the second car to a local hospital for treatment.
